Rotating drum for continuous drying of wet solids, mechanically robust and suited to severe duty and abrasive products. It is the technology that scales best as capacity grows.

The wet product enters a slightly inclined cylindrical drum that turns on rollers. Internal flights lift and drop the material, forming curtains of solid that meet the hot air.
Because residence time is long, minutes rather than seconds, a rotary dryer removes not only surface moisture but also water bound inside the particle. It is the choice for coarse, dense or difficult products.
It can run direct, with hot air passing through the drum, or indirect, with heat transferred through the wall when the product must not touch combustion gases. Construction is reinforced at the wear zones according to abrasiveness.

Direct where the product can meet the hot gases: it is more efficient and cheaper. Indirect where the product must not touch combustion, for contamination, colour or hygiene reasons.
The standard range runs to 5,000 kg/h and the technology scales well beyond that. The higher the output, the better a rotary dryer competes against the alternatives.
Yes. Materials and wall thicknesses are selected for the product and the wear zones are reinforced. It is a decision taken at the start of the project.
